Nadia is ONE!

*patting my own back while sipping some coffee...*

Time surely flies damn fast! Possibly because of having 2 active young-lings inside a tiny space makes every muscle i have to work harder, every cells of my brain to think faster, and the seconds to move faster and unnoticeable.

Such an awesome feeling to look back to the day she was born! Unlike Nayaka's birth date, which happening too fast and vaguely remembered, Nadia's arrival in our life is crystal clear.

One of the reason is because she was born on 17 August. For Indonesian, this day is always marked with big red pen and celebrated at every streets, houses, land, sea, sky!

Here's the specific story on that day...

I was at my bed with Nayaka, reading him a book and singing some songs (our rituals before he closes his eyes) and when his and my eyes was drifting up and down... sudden painful kick happened around my pelvic and followed by urge to pee! *suspense*

i went to my toilet and let out the pinkish liquid. My water broke.
yep, i knew this from the first pregnancy.

So, i calmly woke my husband. and for the second time he woke up with this blur mixed with panic look. "huhh? wha? now?? your water broke!?!"

his reaction awakes Nayaka and the whole house.

I looked at the time. 10-ish pm. 16 Aug. oookayy... personally i try to aim for the 17. and i think my husband somehow quietly has the same vibe, since we slowly take our things... slowly walk down and search for cab instead of calling... slowly walk to the ward... slowly filling in some form... by the time im in the operating theatre, my eyes are fixed to the clock in front of my eyes (also, everything else in front of my tummy is covered by big blue cloth)

The hardest thing to endure from that 2 over hour waiting was the contraction! gosh.. swear to god, how relieve i am to see the epidural doctor arriving and setting her tools and needles.

and... 00.13 am ~ i hear her cry ;)

The "glorious-yet-not-so-glamorous" face we both have!

Moving fast forward 12 months later, she became the little lady of the house.
With her willpower bigger than her body.

here's her achievement so far:
  1. She has 3 teeth. 2 upper and 1 lower.
  2. She doesnt like to crawl. she forces to grab on people's index finger so she can walk around or run after her brother.
  3. She speaks a lot. yet no one understands but herself. *i guess its pretty frustating*
  4. She loves food. anytime of the day. especially grown up savory food.
  5. She can clap. with happy face!
  6. She can clench her fist when we say "gemesss" to her. (i have no english word for this term gemes)
  7. She can wave goodbye. but no kiss bye.
  8. She started to shake her head when she doesnt want things.

  9. She does peek-a-boo like a pro
  10. She could open adult books with thin papers, page by page.
  11. She loves playing drum. she has this amazing hand holding skill by her fingers, not her palm.
  12. She wants everything her brother holding onto. and throw it once given. (basically she just like to test the water)
  13. She likes to tear tissues.
  14. She cries when she needs to poop. and she gives a "dont stare at me" frown look when she's about to do it.
  15. She has a smelly pillow that she loves to bite, chew, kiss, and poke the corners (including the tag) with her fingers.
  16. She screams like there's an ambulance coming straight next to your ear.
  17. When we say birdie, she will look out to the window, and when she saw one, she will stretch out her hands, open and close it repeatedly as if to invite them.
  18. She really really loves bright lights.
  19. She will knock her head unto us when we asked her to kiss us.
  20. She can point to something when she want to express her feeling or need something.
  21. She likes to stare deeply at people and her smile is more expensive than buying HDB in Singapore.
  22. She still breastfeed at night (okay, this one is my achievement!)
  23. She's able to click on my iphone main button.
  24. She doesnt like it when her hand stuck inside the shirt's arm hole area. she will get panic and get jumpy and screaming.
  25. She likes to see herself in the mirror and play peek-a-boo with her own reflection.
.... and many more to come! :)

of course, this list of things about her is not for the purpose of bragging on her. As im sure all of our babies has their unique milestones (i would need to do another round for Nayaka) but rather its a self note as a parents and perhaps for her when she be a parent too one day :)

For now, am just glad and happy to see the development of my full-of-characteristic little lady.
