what makes a colorful day?

#lolliboxturns2

Last saturday, we were invited to birthday celebration of Lollibox, the leading arts and crafts for kids. It has similar concept of iNbox, but with more free flow of contents. Hmm.. who doesn't like some variation on life anyways? :)

They host the party in one of our fave spot, its called The Treehouse at Grandstand, where a part of the restaurant area are dedicated for kids for free play.

The theme of the party was to dress in green and we decided to dress in uniform (custom made by cute and talented designer near our house in Jakarta)

love the minimalist yet fun deco!

We had so much fun doing the crafts, especially for Nayaka. I asked him to do a door sign for his room and we decided to do letter N with red car in it! I know art can be a free flow sometimes, but it is good to give a rough guide and sense of direction in the overall big picture, then let the kid fill in the gap with their own imagination and creativity.

Car themed activity sheets, what not to like?

Art is a serious business, we learn that from his popo.
The happy and proud crowd.

Nayaka hardly had any interest in trying new food but when he saw the array of pretty looking cupcakes, he eagerly wants a bite! he cant finish it, but hey, it was a good motivation to begin with. (and you wonder why is it so hard for mommy to stay slim...)

Better take a snapshot of these fun looking cupcakes, before the kids jumps unto them!
Mom, dont snap me while im eating...

Getting some exposure with other kids has great benefits too, as Nayaka learn how to share and wait for his turn, get inspired to try new materials, get his hands dirty and splatter some glue, paint, colors!

We ended the party with singing a birthday song and cake cutting. The kind and generous people at Lollibox even gave him a bag full of crafty things to do at home. We cant wait to try it!

happy birthday Lollibox!
Thanks for inviting us!

He said this to me, "I had fun today, mama!" and that being said from a three years old, really sums up what a good day is :)

Nayaka's creation on the right side.

Hope your weekend pass by as fun as ours did!

Cheers,
Erlina.
